a) Category Growth & Profitability:
• Responsible for the overall brand & product category strategy.
• Drive business growth to achieve targeted revenue & gross margin for the category. Responsible for the pricing & overall promotion of a product category to maximize consumer appeal.
• Should have ability & drive towards growing the category profitably keeping in mind the consumers and competition.
• Responsible for merchandising, assortment planning, option plans pre-season as well as in season to ensure that the category is well represented

b) Product Development and Value Engineering:
• Sound knowledge & ability to create a product portfolio with commercial designs in sync with International trends.
• Conceptualize, design and execute brand & new category launches
• Should be able to identify broader trends & fill category gaps
• Analysing data & insights to spot consumer and industry trends to grow the marketplace.
• Work closely with product development team to create minimum 4 collections in a year. Develop product roadmap for new launches and meeting all products launch timelines at the desired spec & quality.
• Drive key vendor relationship for the category, identifying strategic partners and negotiating better terms of trade & deals for customers

c) Inventory Management & Market analysis:
• Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory & place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands
• Understand the category in depth to oversee value creation and research the product category basis the need of the customers
• Maintaining tab on the inventory levels by reviewing timely & accurate reports.
• Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
• Inventory health metrics (STR – Full season / Fresh, Stock Cover, Core inventory Share%, Etc)
• Conduct detailed spend analysis and bench-marking, evaluate market and competitive conditions
• Analyse market trends, consumer preferences, sell through, seasonal demands etc. to formulate a buying practice in line with consumer demand. Should drive visibility & promotion plans and coordinate the same between the internal marketing teams.
• Oversee communication development and the creation, execution of marketing, promotion and merchandising plans for the different categories

Qualifications and Experience:

• The basic and the most important step is to identify new business opportunities by tapping the potential customers from different countries
• To plan, design, develop and implement different sales activities by researching the customer’s needs and requirements
• To make sure that the existing clients are retained and maintained while developing the new customers
• To ensure that the all the sales and marketing activities are carried out within the agreed budgets, volume, sales, and within the given time scales
• To take initiative and efforts to develop constructive and effective solutions to any issues that slow down or hamper the export procedures and activities
• To constantly review distributor’s performance and monitor their work, so that relevant information can be provided to the management
• Excellent negotiation and follow-up skills with international buyers. Ability to understand and perform in Technical as well as commercial aspects
• Must have good contacts with international buyers
• Must have in overseas travel experience/widely travelled overseas. Developing distribution and sales network across the globe
• Looking out for price fluctuations in the market place
• Creating, viewing and analyzing statistical data
• Analyzing consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends
• Reacting to any changes in customer demand
• Selecting new products and reviewing the old.
• Attending trade events
• Collecting feedback from customers
